This project is a beautiful example of how to extend a classic Dutch “rijtjeshuis.” By relocating the existing living room door to the playroom, we were able to extend the kitchen all the way to the ensuite doors. This created the opportunity for one tall, continuous cabinet that allows the refrigerator to slide in, forming a cozy nook in the corner.

The high cabinets have a different color than the lower kitchen elements, this way a playful contrast emerges between the different parts of the kitchen. The long, low side has no oak framing, which directs more focus toward the island where the oak framing is present.
