Project nijmegen
About the project
This project is a beautiful example of how to extend a classic Dutch “rijtjeshuis.” Living on a wonderful street with the forest right across the doorstep, this family simply didn’t want to move. With twins, they needed more space and a separate room for the girls to play.
By relocating the existing living room door to the playroom, we were able to extend the kitchen all the way to the ensuite doors. This created the opportunity for one tall, continuous cabinet that allows the refrigerator to slide in, forming a cozy nook in the corner.
The high cabinets have a different color than the lower kitchen elements, this way a playful contrast emerges between the different parts of the kitchen. The long, low side has no oak framing, which directs more focus toward the island where the oak framing is present.
The project is still in progress and is expected to be completed around March.
A project from A to Z. Multiple layout sketches, multiple options for each side of the room all drawings for the furniture maker and technical drawings for the installation of plumbing and electricity.
