Project Schaijk
There was a plan, but no design. For this project, I helped define the materials and functional layout of the cabinets and equipment. My proposal became “the black box” — a freestanding element with a hidden pantry at the back, which you pass by when entering the room. On the other side is a garden-facing kitchen with a beautiful cooking island, featuring a rounded bar opposite the fireplace. The lovely homeowners run a high-end flooring company, which made it possible to create a stunning wooden floor-to-ceiling feature that further highlights the black box, making it a striking centerpiece of the space.
